What is Mommy Makeover?

The call Mommy Makeover, a term that could be translated as the mother's makeover, is emerging as a fashion promoted by great international artists who have just become mothers and want to recover the perfection of their body after giving birth. In reality, it is a set of plastic surgery interventions - three, to be exact - whose purpose is to recover the shape and smoothness of the breasts, a completely flat abdomen and eliminate excess fat, especially in the thighs and abdomen. There is no doubt that pregnancy takes its toll on the mother's body: the breasts increase in size to prepare for breastfeeding, the uterus expands incredibly and with it the abdomen, and there are many pregnant women who gain more weight than necessary. . And after childbirth, what? Once breastfeeding is over, the breasts lose their smoothness and appear more sagging, the uterus recovers its normal volume, but the skin of the belly has lost elasticity, showing some dull sagging... or not, if the extra kilos that have been gained during pregnancy They continue in their place.

All of this means that after motherhood, many women become obsessed with recovering their image and even improving it. Special diets, lots of exercise, special gymnastics, passive gymnastics, cosmetic treatments, etc. Anything goes to achieve the goal. None of this is harmful to health and some of these initiatives even provide clear benefits, such as healthy eating and regular exercise. The problem is that the process is slow and does not always give the desired results.

Mommy Makeover

  • Mammoplasty: You can lift the sagging breast after pregnancy and breastfeeding so that it recovers its original shape or opt directly for a breast augmentation that fills in the volume of excess skin, as it leaves fewer scars than the first option.
  • Abdominoplasty: It aims to restore firmness to the abdomen, eliminating skin folds and fat pockets, and tightening the muscles through a small incision in the pubic bone. It can even be used to remove the scar caused by a cesarean section by changing it for a more aesthetic one (smaller and thinner).
  • Liposuction and liposculpture: Liposuction removes fat, but has no effect on distending the skin or muscles. Hence the recommendation to combine it with an abdominoplasty in order to sculpt the waist and abdomen as desired.

He Mommy Makeover offers a radical solution but not exempt from the risks that any of the procedures described entail.
